Got organised and decided that we would go on the On/Off tour bus instead of using the underground. As it happened, it was a much better idea to do this as we saw a lot of the city from the top of a double decker bus. Fortunately it was a fine day.
We first went on the yellow tour as that was the closest one to pick up, but we changed over to the green one later so we could go round all the major sights like the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. We got off at the Louvre for a wander round then went on to the Notre Dame Cathedral where there were long queues waiting to get in. This year is the 850th anniversary of Notre Dame so that was quite special.
We had some lunch in a cafe near the cathedral, then got the bus again and went along the Seine to the Arc de Triomphe, the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower. We decided not to get off here as you could see it well enough from the bus.
We then stopped near the Printemps and Galleries Lafayette where we had a look, bought a couple of things then got the bus again to a stop near the hotel. Had a cup of tea at a cafe, then walked to the hotel.
We found a Greek restaurant near the hotel and went there for a meal which was very nice.
Took photos with my camera today so will have to wait till I get home to post them.
Packing up tonight for our flight back to Heathrow then on to LA tomorrow afternoon. It has been a great holiday, but we are looking forward to getting home now.
